3D printing technology in our own automation department

At the end of May this year we invested in a second 3D printer and so more and more self-printed parts are replacing individual components in our automations.

We use a printer from the company Mark3D - Markforged. With this printer, the strength of the standard material (PA6-CF15) can be significantly increased by a continuous glass fibre, which is applied by means of a second print head. Low weight and high heat resistance are further convincing arguments for us. After 179 printed components, we have drawn a first positive balance. The components can be used very well even under high loads in the harsh production environment.
